SOM Students Collecting Supplies for Flooded Pakistan
Students in the School of Medicine are collecting supplies for victims of the catastrophic floods in Pakistan. Specific items needed are cotton bedsheets, dry-packaged food, dried fruit, bar soaps, bottled water, plastic disposable cups, and juice boxes. Collection bins are available through September 15 in Volker Hall Lecture Rooms A and E, the fourth and fifth floors, and in room 102. Monetary donations also are encouraged. Make checks payable to UASOM Pakistan Relief (a box of relief supplies costs $20). Therapies for Rare Tumors

CCTS Course Teaches Science Vocabulary
"Vocabulary of Clinical and Translational Science" is a 2-week course that prepares participants to read and interpret medical literature through an understanding of types of research design, analysis, and interpretation. It provides a foundation for further clinical training for participants in UAB's Clinical and Translational Science (CCTS) Training Program. The course will be held from 4 to 6 pm Monday through Friday, September 13 to 24, at the West Pavilion Conference Center.
